Sandra S. Whitehead, 68, of Seymour passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born Aug. 9, 1948, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Herbert Kenneth and Ruth “Dolly” Stewart Smith, both of whom preceded her in death. In August 2002, she married Marvin Lee Whitehead, who preceded her in death Oct. 13, 2003.

Sandra was a member of First Christian Church in Scottsburg. She worked more than 30 years as a certified nursing assistant.

Survivors include her sons, Russell (Jessica) Edwards, Bradley Stout, Robert Stout and Brien (Rhonda) Stout; grandchildren, Erin Edwards, Cora Edwards, Leah Edwards, Dallas Stout, Kaleb Allman, Zack Stout, Amanda Muncy, Aaron Jones, Katie Stout and Breanna Stout; great-grandchildren, Aiden Jones, Jaylyn Muncy, Josie Campbell and Jesslyn Muncy; and siblings, Linda Smith, Kristy Smith and Herb (Kim) Smith.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Brien Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
