Larry E. Baker, 74, of Seymour passed away at 12:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born July 20, 1942, in Bedford, he was the son of John F. and Vera Rainey Baker. On June 7, 2003, he married Bonnie Wooten O’Neal, who survives.

Larry was a member of Surprise Christian Church. He retired from Jiffy Lube after many years of service as a district manager. He was also the former owner of Baker’s IGA in Seymour and Bedford. He loved taking golfing trips with the guys, NASCAR and tinkering around the house and the yard. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his dogs. He was a member of Seymour Lodge 146, Free & Accepted Masons, and the Scottish Rite.

Beside his wife, survivors include his children, Devin Baker and Noelle (Todd) DeHaven; stepchildren, Brandon O’Neal and Dustin (Makenzie) O’Neal; granddaughters, Preston and Paxton DeHaven; stepgranddaughter, Chelsie Weade; two brothers, John (Marsha) Baker and Terry (Frances) Baker; a nephew, Michael Baker; and his mother-in-law, Curtis Wooten, and father-in-law, Barlow Wooten.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Mark Baker.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Rick Grant officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to First Tee of Indiana or the Don & Dana Myers Cancer Center.
