Tiger earns weekly honor

Crothersville senior Katrina Christian was named co-player of the week for District 3 by the Indiana Baseball Coaches Association on Monday.

Cristian averaged 34.5 points in two wins for Crothersville (7-1), including a school-record 39 points in the latter game.

The Eastern Illinois University signee began her week with 30 points, 10 rebounds and four assists as the Tigers edged Borden 50-48.

Christian then scored 39 points with 15 rebounds and two assists in a 75-67 overtime triumph at Trinity Lutheran. In two games, she was 27-of-51 from the field and 15-of-18 from the line.

Christian shares the honor with Bloomington Lighthouse Christian Academy’s Grace Holdeman, who set a single-game scoring record three times in one week, including a 50-point explosion.

Owls get state recognition

Seymour seniors Marie Lenart and Brantley Adams were both named All-State Honorable Mention over the weekend.

Lenart and Adams participated in the girls and boys State Showcases on Saturday at North Central High School, representing District 5.
