Ronald W. Fisher, 80, of Seymour passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Covered Bridge Health Campus.

Born June 20, 1936, in East Enterprise, he was the son of Louie and Kathryn Crouch Fisher, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Joan Hatfield on Nov. 28, 1959, in Rising Sun. She preceded him in death May 14, 2010.

Ronald was a member of The Tabernacle. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 1987 and Precise Mold in 2005. He enjoyed walking and going to Dairy Queen. He could remember every joke he ever heard and had a way of recalling them at the absolutely perfect times.

Survivors include his daughters, Tammy and Shawna (Greg Cook) Fisher; a brother, Bill (Donna) Fisher; a nephew, Bill (Vanessa) Fisher; and a niece, LaDessia (Darren) Thayer.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at The Tabernacle, 301 Indianapolis Ave., Seymour, with the Rev. Larry Arrowood, the Rev. Randy Easton and the Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society or the Tabernacle.
