An 8-year-old ministry offering bilingual services will complete a move to a newly renovated church in Seymour with two services this weekend.

The first of those two services at Centro de Renovacion Christiana, 319 East St., has been set for 7 p.m. Saturday, and the second will be at the same time Sunday.

The Rev. Johnnie Spivey with Cornerstone Community Church will be the preacher for Saturday’s service, which is open to everyone in the community. Centro de Renovacion Christiana has been Cornerstone’s Hispanic ministry since 2008.

Centro de Renovacion Christiana, which has incorporated, purchased the building on East Street in October 2015 and spent the past year remodeling it for use a church, board member Orlando Munoz said.

A growth in membership of the nondenominational, independent church led to the decision to find a separate location, Munoz said.

Jose Fontanez is the senior pastor.

“Our only purpose as a church in this place is for people to come to God and for people to get to know God not only in the spiritual way but in the secular way also,” Fontanez said.

There will be additional services at 7:15 p.m. Sundays in December. Also this month, there will be Bible study at 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays and youth services at 7:15 p.m. Thursdays.

After Jan. 1, youth services will be at 7:15 p.m. Wednesdays.
