Thrive Alliance will host a holiday open house to introduce The Gathering Place Café, the organization’s senior meal site.
The open house will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Brownstown Senior Center, 124 Main St., Brownstown.
During the event, guests will be invited to create a handmade ornament, enjoy local entertainment and learn how Thrive Alliance serves the seniors of Brownstown and its surrounding area.
“The open house will assist us in finding out how to best serve the seniors of this community,” said Abigail Garcia, wellness and nutritional manager for Thrive Alliance. “It is really important that the community knows that we are here and what we have to offer. We know there are more seniors in this area that could benefit from a hot meal and social engagement with other seniors.”
Thrive Alliance serves residents of Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings counties. Its services focus on helping older adults and individuals with disabilities remain safe and independent in their own home as long as possible. The services also include providing safe and affordable housing for low-income individuals and families.
