Elsie L. Luedeman, 91, of Seymour, and formerly of Paris Crossing, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Aug. 11, 1925, in Jennings County, she was the daughter of Harold and Ota Bolton Marling, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Walter Luedeman, who survives, on June 14, 1947, at First Methodist Church in North Vernon.

Elsie was a member of Coffee Creek Christian Church her entire life. She was the postmaster at Paris Crossing for many years until her retirement in 1987. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, paper cutting silhouettes, gardening, canning, telling stories and spending time with her grandkids.

Survivors besides her husband of 69 years, include children, Judy (Ralph) Hillenburg, Marilyn Hooser, Barbara (Jim) Grove, Mark (Linda) Luedeman, Lucille (Glenn) Metz and Paul (Mary) Luedeman; 18 grandchildren, Julia (Jeff) Hudelson, Valerie Mains, Bradley Erwin, Tricia (Jason) Brown, Jill Erwin, Laura Collins, Susan (Jeremy) Suhre, Jacob (Maria) Grove, Trina (Marty) Hoevener, Paula (Toby) Ortman, David (Tiffany) Luedeman, Jon (Jessica) Luedeman, Chris (Jessica ) Lanning, Erin (Clint) Rudolph, Joann (Reed) May, Charlie Metz, Jessica Luedeman and Courtney Luedeman; several great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Phyllis) Marling and Max (Jean) Marling; and sisters, Marjorie (John) Morin and Nancy (Ray) Fisk.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Marling and Ray Marling; sister, Marilyn Galliher; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Coffee Creek Christian Church, with the Rev. Will Smith officiating. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.

Memorials may be given to Cana Cemetery or Coffee Creek Christian Church.
