Cougars fall in extra time

AUSTIN

Trinity Lutheran couldn’t get the edge in the end.

The Cougars lost by a single point in a 53-52 overtime game Tuesday at Austin.

Trailing 12-7 after eight minutes, Trinity exploded for 21 points in the second quarter to take a 28-24 lead into intermission.

Austin scored 12 points for the third straight quarter while limiting Trinity to 10, and then outscored the Cougars 9-7 in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles tallied eight points to Trinity’s seven in OT.

Chad Stuckwisch topped the Cougars with 20 points, and Jacob Rowe added 17 points. Both Stuckwisch and Rowe drilled four 3-pointers in the game.

Twenty-one fouls were called on the Cougars to 14 for the Eagles.

With the loss, the Cougars dropped to 0-3 on the season.
