Mona Bode, 75, of Indianapolis passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, peacefully at home with her family by her side.

Born Aug. 23, 1941, in Jonesville, she was the daughter of Helen M. Williams, who preceded her in death. Mona married Glen O. Bode on Dec. 27, 1963. He preceded her in death April 27, 2007.

Survivors include her twin daughters, Kimberly (Michael Eder) Bode and Kathleen (J. Allen Hoover, II) Bode ; six grandchildren, Mona Logan “Logan” Eder, Glen Michael Austin Eder, John Colten Zollars “Cole” Eder, Klancy Mona Blaire Hoover, Kaylor Alice Blayne Hoover and Bode James Hoover; sisters, Shirley (Lloyd) Hudson, Rebecca (Ty) Johnson, Susan (Jerry Wayne) Scott and Anne (Timothy) Carpenter; brothers, Jefferey R. Vaughn, Edward Zollars, William Zollars; and foster brother Robert D. Perkins.

Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by her biological father, Ely Vaughn Zollars; father of record Clarence James Wheeler; stepfathers William Emerson Wheeler and Robert Jerome Vaughn; and a brother, William Jason Wheeler.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. James Hudson officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice in honor of Mona Bode and the wonderful care provided to her by their staff. The family also wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Franciscan St. Francis Health Geriatrics Tower 5 West for their excellent care during her stay. May God bless Mona Bode and her family, and may she rest forever in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
