Walter Weddle, 85, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at Seymour Crossing.

Born June 26, 1931, in Jackson County, he was the son of John Riley and Stella May Beavers Weddle, both of whom preceded him in death. On Oct. 18, 1952, in Jackson County, he married Edna Mae Bruce, who preceded him in death Sept. 18, 2014.

Walter spent most of his life in western Jackson County before moving to Seymour. He was a member of Heltonville United Methodist Church. He retired in 1999 from Seymour Manufacturing after 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Dorothy Stout of Little York, Wanda (Ron) Arbuckle of Seymour, Patricia Cox of Little York and Walter Wayne “Bud” (Debbie) Weddle of Brownstown; grandchildren, Steven (Joy) Allman, William (Julie) Allman, Peggy (Ron) Persinger, Shannon (Bobby) Skaggs, Robert Cox, Wanda Lynn Bennett, Timothy Weddle, Dustin Weddle, Derek Weddle, Johnny (Rebecca) Reed, Ryan French, Paul (Tangi) French and Tabitha Jones; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.

Besides his wife of almost 62 years and parents, he was preceded in death by a child, Linda Sue Weddle; a son-in-law, Bobby Cox; and a granddaughter, Vanessa Weddle.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Burial will be at Kurtz Cemetery with full military rites.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
