Two Seymour churches plan to offer Financial Peace University courses this winter and into early spring.

The course at Central Christian Church, 1434 W. Second St., will begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 11 and end March 8, while the course at The Point, 311 Myers St., will begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 22 and end March 19. Space is limited.

Financial Peace University is operated by syndicated columnist Dave Ramsey and is designed to teach families and individuals how to handle their money through common-sense principles and small-group accountability.

Lessons include budgeting, relationships and money, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing.

After each lesson, the group meets in smaller groups to help and encourage each other, plan budgets and discuss successes and temptations.
