State District 69 Rep. Jim Lucas, R-Seymour, recently was named to the House Committee on Education, the House Committee on Elections and Apportionment and the House Committee on Public Policy.

He also was named as assistant majority whip and vice chairman of the House Committee on Government and Regulatory Reform by House Speaker Brian C. Bosma, R-Indianapolis.

The speaker appoints committee chairs and caucus leaders biennially after each election.
