Strong second half lifts Braves to win

MADISON

Trailing by five points at halftime, Brownstown Central put together a solid second half to defeat Madison 50-37 Tuesday night on the road.

The Braves (9-6) trailed 18-7 after one quarter but held the Cubs (3-10) to single digits in each of the next three quarters.

Madison led 26-21 at intermission, but Brownstown won the next two quarters 15-4 and 14-7.

Ashley Schroer led Brownstown with 12 points, and Keeli Darlage had eight. Payton Farmer pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to go along with her four points.

Madison’s Emma Beasley led all scorers with 15 points.

That marked the Braves’ fourth straight win, including the past three on the road, while the Cubs dropped their fourth straight game.
