Lloyd Sanders, 75, of Seymour passed away at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at his home just north of Seymour, surrounded by his family.

Born Feb. 21, 1941, in Bedford, he was the son of Harold Jason and Ethel Marie Lavender Sanders, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 27, 1967, at Free Methodist Church in Bedford, he married Ruthie Craig, who survives.

Lloyd was a member of Brownstown Church of the Nazarene. He served in the United States Air Force. After graduating from high school, he received an engineering certificate and went to work for Duke Energy until his retirement in 1996. He also enjoyed working as a clock maker.

Other survivors include his children, Kimberley Dawn (Jay) Schmidt and Jason Craig (Becky) Sanders; eight grandchildren, Sierra, Laurin, Lorelei, Sam, Abby, Joe, Carley and Claire; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Danny Sanders, and a sister, Kay Owens.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brownstown Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Tim Lichtley and the Rev. Dave Colgan officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery with a U.S. flag presentation and taps.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
