Jesse J. and Elsie M. Kovener of Seymour plan to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 8 in the social room at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 S. Walnut St.

Jesse and the former Elsie Melloncamp were married Jan. 6, 1952, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wegan. The Rev. Leckband officiated.

The couple have two children, a son, the late Dennis K. Kovener, and a daughter, Deborah A. Tatlock of Seymour; a granddaughter, Jennifer L. (Larry) Abner of Seymour; and a great-granddaughter, Lydia M. Chandler of Seymour.

Elsie retired from Seymour Community School Corp.’s cafeteria system, and she formerly owned and operated Vogue Beauty Shop in Brownstown.

Jesse retired from Dunlap and Co. and is owner and operator of Kovener’s Lock and Key.

Both are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

The couple request no gifts, and everyone is welcome to attend the reception.
