Charles L. Staley, 70, of Freetown, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at his home.
Born Sept. 11, 1946, in Knox County, Vincennes, he was the son of Elva and Nora Spencer Staley. He was married to Nollie Taylor and Brenda Pearson, both of whom preceded him in death.
Charles had worked most of his life at Golden Foundry and then at Aisin. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in Seymour, and also was a member of Hilltop Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include children, Patrick Staley, Casey (Jessica) Gabbard and Aaron Proffit; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Marion Staley.
The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Houston Christian Church with Gary Dyer officiating. Burial of his ashes will take place at Houston Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service Friday at the church.
Memorials may be given to Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home to help with expenses.
