Betty L. Hurley, 77, of Columbus died at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Columbus Regional Health.

Survivors include her children, Linda Burton, Julie Shafer, Steven (Cora) Merriman and Roger (Sally) Merriman, all of Columbus; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ruby Ritter, Martha (Bob) Gabbard, John Ferguson, Marjorie (Warren) Hawkins, Kenneth (Ruth) Ferguson, Linda Swengel, Phillip Ferguson, Thomas Ferguson and James (Vicki) Ferguson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer A. Hurley.

Cremation is planned, and there will be no service.

Private inurnment will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery in Columbus.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
