Daymond Merle Reynolds, 78, of Brownstown died at 11:41 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born Oct. 20, 1938, in Brownstown, he was the son of Orville Reynolds and Alga Mae Goodpasture Reynolds, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 8, 1971, in Brownstown, he married Anna Margaret Overshiner Reynolds, who survives.

He attended Brownstown Christian Church and belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Seymour. He was owner of Daymond’s Tavern in Brownstown from 1974 until 1982 and worked several years for Tiffany’s Marble in Brownstown. He also worked for Rose Acre Farms for several years. He enjoyed country music and sitting on the front porch waving at everyone who went by. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his family.

Other survivors include three sons, Andy Reynolds, Jason Reynolds and Brandon Reynolds, all of Brownstown; five grandchildren, Daymond (Lena) Reynolds Jr., Elizabeth (Bryan) Lonsberry, Shelby Reynolds, Brandon Reynolds and Anna Reynolds; four great-grandchildren, Mason Lonsberry, Landon Lonsberry, Ryland Reynolds and Lakin Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Red Reynolds, James Franklin Reynolds, Ronald Lee Reynolds, Glen Reynolds and Raymond Reynolds; and two sisters, Lois Rochner and Doris Bowman.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zabel Funeral Home in Brownstown with Pastor Daryl Amis officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.

Visitation will be from from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
