Tigers lose key SAC matchup
HENRYVILLE
Crothersville needed a victory at Henryville to stay in the running for the Southern Athletic Conference title on Tuesday.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, a win fell just out of grasp as they fell to the Hornets 53-48 in overtime.
The Tigers built a 14-12 lead after one quarter and held a 28-24 advantage at the half.
Both offenses sputtered in the third quarter, but the Hornets would take the lead after 24 minutes at 32-31.
In the fourth quarter, the Tigers struggled from the line, making seven of 13 free throws before extra minutes
Henryville’s Reagan Hensley hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime.
CHS (10-5) only scored two points in overtime as they dropped to 1-2 in SAC play.
Katrina Christian led the Tigers with 25 points and 12 rebounds and Nikki Hickman added nine points.
Today, the Tigers will host Christian Academy of Indiana.
