Norma Jean Thiele, 85, of Seymour passed into the loving arms of her Savior with her family by her side Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017.

Born Sept. 27, 1931, near Dudleytown, she was the daughter of William Ernest and Clara Wehrkamp Thiele, both of whom preceded her in death.

Norma was a 1950 graduate of Shields High School. After graduation, she worked at the hospital, retiring from Schneck Medical Center on Oct. 18, 1996, after 46 years and four months of service in the housekeeping department. Norma also was a caregiver for her mother and never married.

Miss Thiele was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she served the Immanuel Guild and volunteered in her many roles at the church. She also was a volunteer at Lutheran Community Home and Trinity Lutheran High School.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Hoevener of Tampico, five nephews and cousin/caretaker, Barbie (Max) Wischmeier.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert J. Thiele, and a nephew.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch and the Rev. James Rodriguez officiating. Burial will take place at Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery at Dudleytown.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran School or Trinity Lutheran School.
