Bedel reunion hosted at park

The 37th annual Bedel reunion was Sept. 11 at the indoor shelter house at Brownstown Park.

Don Ray gave the invocation before lunch. A business meeting was conducted after lunch.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

A thank-you card from Anchor House was read.

One death was reported, James Bedel, husband of Emma Bedel.

After discussing where to hold the 2017 reunion, it was voted on and approved to continue having the Bedel reunion at the indoor shelter house in Brownstown.

The group decided to continue donating nonperishable items to Anchor House.

It was voted on and approved to retain the present officers for 2017.

There was a discussion about starting to chart the Bedel family history. Some families started to write down their family genealogy.

Emmarie Lynn Craig, granddaughter of Melissa Wilkinson and great-granddaughter of Don and Dianna Ray, was the youngest person attending.

Edith Bedel Beckman was the oldest person attending.

A 50/50 drawing was conducted. Pat Owens had the winning ticket. Door prizes went to Tina Jaeger, Melissa Wilkinson, Joyce Vehslage, John Ray, Jenny Day, Mitch Owens, Piper Owens, Elizabeth Craig, Diana Ray and Don Ray.

An auction was held with Pat Owens and Don Ray as the auctioneers.
