Owls top North

BLOOMINGTON

The Seymour High School gymnastics team scored a season-high point total to defeat Bloomington North 203-25-99.3 Monday night.

Kellsye Warner topped the Owls by placing first on vault, beam, floor exercise, and in all-around with a score of 36.5.

“The girls had a great night,”Coach Angie Mellencamp said. “Skills are starting to clean way up. We are now to the point in the season that the routines are hitting and a lot of the bonus points are being given by the judges.

“Kellsye Warner had a great night on every event except bars. Brett Kleber’s scores are coming up quite a bit too. You can really see the hours the girls are putting in the gym are starting to pay off.”

“Beam did get the best of the girls again. We had several falls that did count towards the team score. The girls are ready to hit the equipment this week and focus on cleaning up the skills before our first invitational this Saturday.”
