Brownstown Central High School senior Jami Bryant recently was named the 2016 October Youth of the Month by the Brownstown Exchange Club.

Bryant, the daughter of Darren and Debi Bryant, was introduced by club member and committee chairman Kevin Gwin.

Bryant is president of National Honor Society, vice president of the student council and secretary of the Class of 2017. She is a member of Teen Tutors and the Spanish Club.

She is a co-captain and leading pitcher of the varsity softball team. She was a member of the all-county team and earned all-Mid Southern Conference honorable mention. Bryant said she will attend Bellarmine University and plans to major in biology.

The Brownstown Exchange Club meets at 7 a.m. Tuesday mornings at Dairy Queen in Brownstown. Visitors are welcome.
