Carolyn “Jean” Fish, 81, of Seymour passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born June 19, 1935, in Finley, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Jim Sapp and Rosie Benningfield Sapp, both of whom preceded her in death. On Jan. 12, 1955, she married Robert Lawrence Fish, who also preceded her in death.

She graduated from Freetown High School in 1953 and retired from both Excello Shirt Factory and H.O. Canfield with 27 years of service. She was a member of Peter’s Switch Church of the Nazarene. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, baking, cooking, playing euchre, eating out with her friends and looked forward to long drives exploring the county.

Survivors include her children, Bobbie Jo Campbell and Kathy Jean Hames; a sister, Alene Bailey; three grandchildren, David (Whitney) Campbell II, Cerri Hames and Crystal Mowdy; seven great-grandchildren, Dakota McElfresh, Austin Frady, Samatha Jo Davis, Destiny and Zoey Mowdy and Damion and Emily Jackson; and a great-great-grandchild, Beckham Kaine Davis.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Robert, Earl and Carl Sapp; four sisters, Laura Grinstead, Linda Grinstead, Lucy Radford and Anna Black; and a granddaughter, Brandi Jackson.

A cremation memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Peter’s Switch Church of the Nazarene with Keith Ross officiating. Burial will take place at Kurtz Cemetery at a later date.

Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. until time of service Thursday.
