Mustangs pass by Trinity Lutheran

NEW WASHINGTON

Trinity Lutheran was limited to 16 first half points in a 57-39 loss at New Washington on Saturday.

The Mustangs held a 17-7 advantage after one quarter before leading 34-16 at the half.

Trinity (5-14) limited the Mustangs (13-7) to just six third quarter points, but were outscored 17-13 in the final eight minutes.

Kendall White and Chad Stuckwisch both scored eight points to top the Cougars.

Trinity Lutheran has lost four straight games.

Cougar freshman advances to state

COLUMBUS

Trinity Lutheran freshman Rachel Sabotin qualified for state in two events in her first postseason competition at the Columbus North Regional on Saturday.

Sabotin won the 200 freestyle. (1:53.83) and finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:01.45).

She achieved the state-cut time in the 500.
