Books discussion groups meeting this month

Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups plan to gather this month to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more.

The groups are open to adults and teens, and there is no attendance requirement. The books are available to check out at the library circulation desks.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets the third Wednesday of each month, will gather and share their thoughts on “The Book of Ruth” by Jane Hamilton at 6 p.m. Feb. 15.

Fantastic Fiction plans to discuss “Olive Kitteridge” by Elizabeth Strout at 11 a.m. Feb. 17 at the Seymour Library. Led by volunteers Ann Schwein and Sharon Kamman, this group meets the third Friday of each month.

The Friday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. Feb. 17 at Mi Casa, 101 S. Broadway St., Seymour. Information services assistant Janet Hensen will lead the review of “Dead Wake” by Erik Larson. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Sign up for the program as you check out the book from the circulation desk.

The Medora Library discussion group will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 27 to talk about “The Second Half” by Lauraine Snelling.
