Man serving as legislative intern

A Crothersville resident is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the legislative session.

Evan Petty, the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Petty, graduated from Crothersville High School and is a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

As a legislative intern for State Sens. Mark Messmer, R-Jasper, and Andy Zay, R-Huntington, Petty corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails. He also helps staff senate committees and floor proceedings.

Senate majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by April 29.
