Three people were taken to hospitals Wednesday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 at State Road 11.
The wreck left Ye Sun, 23, of Urbana, Illinois, hospitalized for treatment of serious injuries at St. Vincent Hospital and two passengers in his vehicle hospitalized at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, according to a news release from Sgt. Stephen Wheeles with the Indiana State Police.
The names, ages and hometowns of the passengers or their conditions were not available Thursday morning.
Wheeles, the Versailles Post’s public information officer, said Sun was merging onto northbound Interstate 65 from the Jonesville exit when he pulled into the path of a semitrailer driven by Said Adam, 37, of Cincinnati. Adam was not hurt in the wreck, reported at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Sun’s vehicle overturned after hitting the trailer of Adam’s truck. It came to rest in the northbound lanes.
The interstate was closed for about two hours for investigation and cleanup.
