Time capsule proposal causes concern to fund

At 11 a.m. April 25, 2014, a time capsule buried on the southwest corner of the Jackson County Courthouse in Brownstown nearly a half-century earlier was dug up.

Buried during a ceremony May 28, 1967, the time capsule contained a banner, wooden nickels, notecards, letters, buttons, an auto tag, a high school yearbook and many other items.

The unearthing of that time capsule was the first official event of the bicentennial celebrations for Jackson County, Brownstown and the state in 2016.
