The Crothersville Community School Corp. board of trustees recently approved the 2017-18 school calendar.

The first day of school for teachers and staff will be Aug. 1, and students will start Aug. 2.

School will not be in session Sept. 4 for Labor Day, Oct. 23 through 27 for fall break, Nov. 22 through 24 for Thanksgiving break and Dec. 25 through Jan. 5 for Christmas break. Students will return from Christmas break Jan. 8.

There will be no school Jan. 15 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Feb. 19 for Presidents Day, but those could be used for makeup days if needed. School also won’t be in session March 19 through 23 for spring break and March 30 for Good Friday.

Built-in snow days are scheduled for Dec. 22, April 2 and 13 and May 4 and 7.

The last day of school for students is set for May 24, and teachers’ last day is May 25. Graduation will be at 8 p.m. May 25 in the high school gymnasium.

If necessary, snow days will be used to make up student instructional days. Any additional days missed will be added to the end of the scheduled school year beginning May 29.
