Debra A. Copeland, 56, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born Nov. 26, 1960, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Roger D. Mellencamp, who survives, and Naomi Joyce Polley Mellencamp, who preceded her in death. On July 25, 1981, in Seymour, she married Curt R. Copeland, who survives.

She was a graduate of the Seymour High School Class of 1979. She was child of God and a great and faithful servant of the Lord. She worked at Schneck Medical Center for 22 years in the lab as a courier. She enjoyed her grandkids, gardening, flowers and being outside.

Other survivors include her children, Alicia (Bryce) Utt and Josh (Elizabeth) Copeland; a brother, Todd (Donna) Mellencamp; grandkids, Brycen, Alex and Mailey; her mother-in-law, Marge Kovener; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service with Brother Steve Muster officiating. Burial will follow at Robertson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of the service Saturday.
