Charlie Murphy took his oath of office when the Jackson County Public Library board of trustees met Tuesday at the Seymour Library.

Murphy recently was appointed by the county council through December 2020.

Julie Lingerfelt, head of adult services, gave a report on the information services department and updated the board on upcoming library programs.

The board approved a change to the board bylaws to clarify that the board treasurer may be a staff member and approved an after-hours adult program July 14 for the third annual Mini Con.

The next regular board meeting is at 5 p.m. March 20 at the Crothersville Library, 120 W. Main St.
