Nominations deadline approaching

Nominations for the Seymour High School Athletic hall of fame’s inaugural Hall of Fame class will close March 1.

Persons may be nominated in the categories of athlete/team, coach or contributor.

Requirements for nominees will be judged on their significance to athletics at Seymour. The official nomination form approved by the Board of Directors must be completed and submitted to the athletic office. All honorees are to be of high moral character and have not been convicted of a felony.

Any person who is properly nominated but not selected to the athletic Hall of Fame shall remain on the list of eligible nominees for five years without having to be re-nominated each year. Inductees into the Hall of Fame will be selected by the Board of Directors.

An induction ceremony will be held and all inductees that have been selected to the Athletic Hall Of Fame must have representation present at the induction ceremony. The induction ceremony will be held during a home basketball game during the 2017-18 season.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Christian invited to top-60 workout

Crothersville senior Katrina Christian is one of 60 Indiana high school senior girls that has been invited to attend Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s Top 60 workouts.

There will be two workouts, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. Sunday, March 5 at Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis.

Other southern Indiana seniors invited to the workouts include Kami Owens of Austin, Imani Guy of Columbus North, Taylor Drury of Eastern (Pekin), Paige Barrett of Scottsburg, and Chyna Anthony of New Albany.
