Roselyn Marie “Rosie” McKinney Snyder, 86, a former Brownstown resident residing in Indianapolis, was called to her heavenly home the morning of Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Bloom Assisted Living.

Born March 8, 1930, in Columbus, she was the daughter of Floyd and Dora McKinney, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Charles W. Snyder, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a sister, Hazel Nelson of Florida; four children, Cheryl (Dennis) Singer of New Palestine, Bill (Kathy) Snyder of Hunter, New York, Beckie (Brian) Eckelman of Columbus and Julia (Jim) Yeater of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Kate (Jack) Jackson and Betty (Alf) VonDielingen, and a brother, Don (Martha) McKinney.

Reflecting her giving, selfless nature and a desire to advance health care to benefit others, Roselyn donated her body to the Indiana University School of Medicine for research and education.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 to 11 a.m. March 4 at Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Jason Taylor officiating.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine, the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
