Schneck Medical Center has been named one of the top 100 rural and community hospitals in the nation, according to The National Rural Health Association’s Rural Health Policy Institute, iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

The Seymour hospital was one of only seven in Indiana to be named to the list. The others were Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle; King’s Daughters’ Health in Madison; Major Hospital in Shelbyville; Marion General Hospital in Marion; Memorial Hospital in South Bend; and Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

The release of the top 100 rural and community hospitals this year expands on research presented as part of the 2017 Rural Relevance Study: Vulnerability to Value from The Chartis Group, according to a news release from Schneck.

Hospitals named to this list are top performers in managing risk, achieving higher quality, securing better outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction and operating at a lower cost than their peers, according to the report.
