The final show of the 2016-17 season for Jackson County Community Theatre opens April 28 at Royal-Off-the-Square Theatre in Brownstown.

“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” features all of Shakespeare’s plays in a fast-paced comedy, which continues April 29 and May 5 and 6. Each show will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The play was conceived and performed by three comics, Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield. It premiered in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1987 and quickly became a worldwide phenomenon, earning the title of London’s longest-running comedy.

The show features three comedic overachievers (played in JCCT’s production by John Rohlfing, Duane Barnard and Ethan Ortman) who attempt to perform all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in 97 minutes.

The show promises an evening of laughter for Shakespeare lovers and haters alike.

Jackson County Community Theatre’s madcap men in tights, Rohlfing, Barnard and Ortman, are directed by Shakespeare aficionados Katherine Stahl and Matt Nieman.

Kathy Nelson is producer, costumer and stage manager. The behind-the-scenes crew members, who must have a finely-tuned routine to keep up with the events onstage, are Erin Nelson, Charisma Barnard, Maggie Rohlfing, Erin Ortman, Amber Barnard and Kathy Passereni. Set builders are Joe Bradley, Joel McGill and Joe Reynolds. Reynolds is the set artist. Julie Bradley is seamstress, Stone Riddle is the light technician and Julie Rohlfing and Katie Rohlfing are in charge of sound.

Jackson County Community Theatre considers this show to be PG-13 rated because of some innuendo.

Tickets are on sale at Family Drug in Brownstown and Artistic Impressions in Seymour. Tickets also may be purchased online at the JCCT website, jcct.org.

This season is sponsored by a grant from the partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, Indiana Arts Commission and Columbus Area Arts Council.
