Southern Indiana Center for the Arts will have a three-session class in letterpress printing fundamentals taught by Don Hill.

The classes will be from 6 to 8 p.m. April 11, 18 and 25 at The John H. and Thomas W. Conner Museum of Antique Printing on the arts center’s grounds at 2001 N. Ewing St., Seymour.

“I’ll be giving instruction on the history of the print shop, lessons in print making with movable type and several printing projects. Upon completion of the course, students will be allowed to use the print shop to work on future private projects with limited supervision,” said Hill, SICA director emeritus.

Hill retired from Seymour High School after teaching 33 years in the subject areas of art and graphic arts. In 2003, he became director of the antique printing museum at the arts center.

The class price of $40 includes all supplies and instruction to complete two printing projects. A 20 percent discount will be given to SICA members.

The class size is limited to seven. Preregistration and prepayment are required by calling SICA at 812-522-2278 or emailing [email protected].
