Ivan John Hunteman, 75, of Seymour passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born April 16, 1941, in Milan, he was the son of Ralph John and Ruth Irene Hunt Hunteman, both of whom preceded him in death. On Aug. 24, 1963, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Napoleon, he married Vera May Crowell, who survives.

He was a 1959 graduate of Napoleon High School and worked in kitchen design at Midway Supply for 35 years. He was currently employed at Goecker Building Supplies for 10 years. He had a passion for cooking outside on the grill and was a loyal fan of Indiana University basketball. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and sang tenor with the Lutheran Men’s Chorus.

Other survivors besides his wife of 53 years, include four children, Dennis (Rachel) Hunteman, Rita (Christopher) Long, Chris (Cindy) Hunteman and Brian (Erika) Hunteman; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Carl (Leda) Hunteman; and two sisters, Betty (Paul) Birch and Carolyn (John) Pierrel.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeffrey Stuckwisch officiating. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
