Seymour High School senior Grace Hartman recently participated in a creative writing contest presented by Purdue University’s College of Liberal Arts.

She received honorable mention in the short story category with “The World Isn’t Ours Anymore.”

Hartman was honored during the annual Literary Awards celebration April 5 featuring author Margaret Atwood as the guest speaker.

The yearly competition, organized by Purdue’s Department of English, is open to all Indiana high school students.
