Backyard Garden Series offered by Purdue Extension

Purdue Extension Jackson County will be offering four programs as part of the Backyard Garden Series.

All programs will be at 6 p.m. at the Jackson County Learning Center, 323 Dupont Drive, Seymour.

Registration will be due one week prior to the class date to the Purdue Extension Jackson County office. Participants may register for as many sessions that are of interest to them. All sessions are free.

Programs will be as follows:

May 1: Growing Small Fruit in the Backyard: This session will cover how to produce blueberries, strawberries, brambles and other small fruits in your backyard.

May 8: Plant Propagation for the Homeowner: This session will cover the basics of plant propagation so homeowners can multiply their plants through seeds, cuttings and other methods.

May 15: Growing Better Tomatoes: Learn more about growing better tomatoes in your backyard. Disease and insect management, fertility and other topics will be covered.

May 22: Vines for the Home Landscape: Learn more about different vines that you can add to your home landscape.
