Thelma J. Monroe, 69, of Seymour, passed away at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at her home.

Born Aug. 10, 1947, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of James L. and Nellie M. Caves Daniels, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Frank Monroe, who preceded her in death.

Thelma was retired, having worked at Waffle House for years. She was proud to be a Christian and an avid churchgoer and loved to read the Bible. She enjoyed to color in books and go camping and really enjoyed fishing with Jack.

Survivors include her fiancé and companion of 18 years, Jack Klakamp of Freetown; children, David (Juliet) Thompson of Phoenix, Arizona, Robert Brewer of Columbus, Steven Brewer of Richmond, Sarah Baker of Scottsburg and Shawn Brewer of Seymour; siblings, Rosie Scott of Franklin, William (Linda) Daniels of Seymour, Richard Daniels of Brownstown and Roger (Sue) Daniels of Seymour; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She will be most missed by her 10-year-old Shih Tzu and companion, Molly.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Daniels.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour. Burial will follow at Winslow Cemetery near Salem.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
