Hilda I. Starr Smith Hurley, 89, of Seymour passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

Born March 3, 1928, in Honeytown, she was the daughter of August Boknecht and Hettie Lucas Boknecht, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Clarence Trett, Woodrow Starr, William Smith and Bud Hurley, all of whom preceded her in death.

She graduated from Cortland High School in 1946 and was a retired artist and beautician. She was a member of Honeytown Christian Church.

Survivors include her son, Steven D. (Linda) Starr; daughter-in-law, Donna Starr; two stepdaughters, Pixie (Jerry) Otte and Carol Ann Guiles; six grandchildren, Judy (Jeff) Vance, John (Stephanie) Starr, Jodi Graham, Peggy (Jeff) Brewer, Penny (Mike) Jones and Crystal (Chris) Bryant; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Boknecht and Hubert Boknecht; two sisters, Edna Hillenburg and Hazel Straub; and a son, James M. Starr.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service in Seymour with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
