Kocolene CEO gets achievement award

Kevin Johnson, CEO of Kocolene Development Corp., recently received the Career Achievement Award presented by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis for his dedication and leadership to his faith and the communities where he has lived and worked.

This award honors individuals who demonstrate Christian values, leadership and a level of commitment that make a difference in the lives of others, according to a news release from the Seymour-based company.

Johnson serves on the board of directors for Scecina Memorial High School and the Archdiocesan Catholic Schools Commission and leads his parish’s religious education program for people with special needs.

He previously served as a board member for Anchor House Family Assistance Center and Food Pantry in Seymour, the Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Club of Seymour and Leadership Jackson County.

Johnson was instrumental in moving the company to 100 percent employee ownership in 2014.

Kocolene also was named 2016 Indiana ESOP Company of the Year under Johnson’s guidance. He shares his leadership skills and talent as a current board member for Tallman Equipment, Dealers Wholesale and previously for Worm’s Way.

Kocolene is an investment holding company that operates in the warehouse, logistics and retail industries.
