A Crothersville High School senior recently received the Good Citizen award for 2016-17 from the Fort Vallonia Daughters of the American Revolution chapter.

Gabriella Walters, the daughter of Stephanie Walters, was selected by a panel of out-of-county judges and recognized during the chapter’s Good Citizen award banquet March 9 at Woodstock Grill at Seymour Country Club.

Students, who are all seniors, were judged on the basis of their dependability, service, leadership, patriotism and on a written essay, according to a news release from the chapter. The winning entry is then sent on to the Indiana State Scholarship Contest.
