Schneck Foundation plans to present “Taking Care of Your Birthday Suit” from 6 to 7 p.m. May 10 in the Schneck Auditorium, 411 W. Tipton St., Seymour.

Dr. Michael Sheehan with Dermatology Physicians Inc. will discuss the normal signs of aging, recognizing potential warning signs and how to protect your “birthday suit” from damage, premature aging and cancers of the skin.

Your skin is your body’s largest organ, weighing in at about 8 pounds and covering about 22 square feet, according to a news release from the foundation. It serves many life-sustaining functions, including protecting you from the outside world and maintaining your body temperature. Many skin changes are just a normal part of the aging process. Others, however, can signal health problems. It pays to know what is normal and what is not.

Schneck Auditorium is just inside the visitors’ entrance at Schneck Medical Center.
