A special guest walked through the doors of Seymour High School’s Bulleit Stadium during Tuesday night’s track and field meet.

Sgt. E5 Lauren Townsend, wearing her military uniform and carrying a bouquet of yellow roses, surprised her mother, Sharon Townsend, who was there to watch her nephew compete in the meet.

Sharon knew Lauren would be coming home from Kuwait sometime soon, but she wasn’t sure exactly when.

That wound up being Tuesday night.
