The Seymour Area Farmers Market will open for its early May season, called MarketLite, on Monday.

Vendors with early produce, including strawberries and starter plants, will be able to set up and sell from 2 to 6 p.m. Mondays and from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesdays.

The market is located in the city parking lot at the corner of Walnut Street and St. Louis Avenue just across the railroad tracks from the library.

SNAP (food stamp) benefits will not be accepted during MarketLite, and the Buck-A-Book Wagon will not be open.

The market will officially open for the regular season May 27.
