Beck’s Mill’s fourth annual Mother’s Day celebration will held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 13 and 1 to 4 p.m. May 14 at 4433 S. Beck’s Mill Road near Salem.
All visiting mothers will receive a sample bag of Beck’s Mill cornmeal on May 14.
The musical entertainment includes 6-year-old violinist, Evie Hawley, eighth-grader Abby Corbin and the “Old Stuff” band.
A Civil War encampment of the 2nd South Carolina Infantry will feature drills and raids throughout the day, and there will be a student art show in the Beck Cabin with local students demonstrating pastel drawings of the mill.
Other demonstrations include blacksmithing, pottery, herbalist, blade sharpening, needle working, bead weaving and of course, corn milling. There will be walking trail tours and plant identification, face painters and children’s crafts.
Craft vendors will sell their talents in the parking lot area.
Admission is $5 and children age 16 and under are admitted free with a paid adult admission.
