Paul W. “Bill” Zimmerman, 60, of Greensburg died Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 2, 1957, in Seymour, he was the son of George and Mary McCart Zimmerman, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 27, 1983, in Springfield, Tennessee, he married Trudy Palmer, who survives.

He retired after 27 years from Laborers Union Local 741. He attended Columbus First Assembly and was a member and past master of Jackson Masonic Lodge in Seymour. He loved motorcycles, racing, go-carts and especially loved his dogs. He had a passion for life and loved to go Florida and soak in the sun and was an accomplished woodworker.

Other survivors include his son, Paul William “Billy” Zimmerman II of Shelburn; daughter, Kimberly (Pete) Maxwell of Greensburg; sisters, Connie (Joe) Wayman of Seymour, Donna (Gary) Boebinger of Nashville, Anna (Dan) Mousa of Seymour; brothers, Jeffrey (Teresa) Dyer of Seymour and Scott Dyer of Las Vegas, Nevada; and grandchildren, Emma Le Zimmerman, Gracie and Grainger Maxwell.

Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his stepfather, William “Bill” Dyer; a brother, Eddie Zimmerman; and a sister, Jewell Beier.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Myers-Reed Chapel at 3729 25th St. in Columbus with the Rev. Rick Glowacki officiating. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
