Several events are planned for the public Saturday in Crothersville.

The annual spring community yard sales will go from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Crothersville and the surrounding area.

Breakfast will be served at First Baptist Church, 305 E. Howard St., and pork burgers will be sold by Crothersville FFA at the school, 109 N. Preston St.

Saturday also is the opening day for plant sales at the Crothersville High School greenhouse. It will be open at 9 a.m.

Flower varieties include wave petunias, zinnias, marigolds, petunias, coleus, snapdragons, impatiens, begonias, dusty miller and alyssum. Hanging floral baskets also will be available.

Vegetables plants include several tomato varieties, several pepper varieties, summer squash, eggplant, cucumber, watermelon, broccoli, Brussels sprout and cauliflower.

The first 50 customers will receive a garden starter vegetable pack (one per family). The pack is sponsored by the Crothersville FFA chapter.

Proceeds from the plant sales go toward greenhouse supplies for next year.
